Pruning

Professional pruning requires considerable skill and experience, so it makes sense to protect your trees’ well-being with expert advice and care.  

All of our pruning work is carried out to BS3998.  

Some common reasons for pruning trees:

• To clear the stem free from branches (crown lifting)
• To help the tree form a well-balanced crown (crown balancing)
• Reduce the weight or alter the shape of the tree’s crown (crown thinning & reduction)  
• Remove damaged, diseased, dead and dying branches
• Reduce leaf surface
• Prevent interference with buildings, overhead cables, traffic, and access
• In the interests of safety

Hedge & Tree Reduction

One of our most frequently asked for services is to reduce and reshape hedges and trees - of every shape, type and size!  The reason for this is generally to increase the light into homes and gardens.

Felling & Sectional Felling

Where trees are dead, dying, dangerous; causing worry or an obstruction, it can sometimes be preferable to take them down completely.

Likewise, to safeguard the future of better specimens, it can sometimes be advisable to selectively remove less valuable trees from a particular area or scheme.
